Luz Helena Salazar owns Maracay, an 8 hectre farm located at 1450 MASL, in Armenia Quindio. Luz’s passion for growing coffee came from watching her husband Jairo Arcila. After hearing Jairo speak about coffee, she wanted to be more involved in the coffee industry. She is the mother of Carlos and Felipe, founders of Cofinet.

This coffee was grown by Luz Helena Salazar. This coffee was exposed to a dry aerobic fermentation of 24 hours before being placed inside Grainpro bags for 50 hours at a temperature below 22C. Then the whole cherries were placed on raised beds until 11% moisture content was achieved.

This microlot is 100% Castillo. This variety was developed by Federación Nacional de Cafeteros. It is more productive than Caturra and resistant to coffee leaf rust.
